1. Overview

GoApus ("we", "us", "our") operates the GoApus Pro desktop application and the website at goapus.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

Key principle: GoApus Pro is a desktop application. Your Instagram credentials and AI API keys are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. We only collect the minimum data necessary to operate our licensing and support services.

2. What We Collect

When you submit a license request

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Instagram handle
  • Plan preference
  • Use case description (how you intend to use the app)
  • IP address (for fraud prevention)

When you activate the Software

  • License key
  • Device identifier (to enforce single-device activation)
  • IP address and timestamp of activation

When you contact us or submit a support ticket

  • Name and email address
  • Message content
  • IP address

Automatically collected data

  • License validation requests (timestamp, IP address, license status)
  • API usage logs for abuse prevention (no content logged)

3. What We Do NOT Collect

We never collect, store, or transmit:
  • Your Instagram username or password — these stay on your device only
  • Your AI API keys (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) — stored locally, never sent to us
  • Any content from your Instagram messages, comments, or posts
  • Any data about the Instagram accounts you interact with
  • Payment card numbers or banking information — handled entirely by our payment provider

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect strictly to:

  • Deliver the service — issue and validate your license key, authenticate your device
  • Communicate with you — respond to support tickets, send important notices about your license
  • Prevent abuse — detect fraud, enforce license limits, and protect our platform
  • Improve the product — understand how the Software is used in aggregate (no individual tracking)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

Payment Processing

All purchases are processed by our payment provider. When you make a purchase, our payment provider collects your payment information, billing address, and related data. That data is governed by our payment provider's own privacy policy, not ours.

Third-Party AI Providers

GoApus Pro uses AI API keys that you provide directly to the Software. Your key is stored locally on your device. The Software makes API calls directly from your device to the provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) — these calls are subject to the respective provider's privacy policy, not ours.

Hosting

Our website and API are hosted on cPanel shared hosting. Standard server access logs (IP, request path, timestamp) may be retained by the hosting provider per their standard practices.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide the service and meet our legal obligations:

  • License records — retained for the lifetime of your license, plus up to 2 years after expiration for accounting purposes
  • Support tickets and contact messages — retained for up to 2 years after resolution
  • Audit logs (API activity) — retained for 90 days, then deleted
  • Lead/request submissions — retained until you request deletion or your request is rejected

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 7).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction — request that we limit how we process your data
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our support ticket system. We will respond within 30 days.

Note: exercising these rights may affect your ability to use GoApus Pro (for example, deleting your license record will deactivate your Software).

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Hashed license key storage
  • Rate limiting and IP-based abuse detection
  • Access controls limiting who can view your data

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

GoApus Pro is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify active license holders by email.

Continued use of GoApus Pro after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
